We Will Gain the Inevitable Triumph So Help Us God

It was 70 years ago today, a day that went down in “infamy” – yes, December 7, 1941. It is only appropriate to remind us of our resolve as a nation, under God, with a quote from then President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

“With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people,- we will gain the inevitable triumph – so help us God.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

This FDR quote was pulled from his famous “infamy” Pearl Harbor Speech given December 8, 1941. Today, let’s remember a time when we were united as a nation with a common just cause, under the banner of God. Let’s remember those who have lost their lives and livelihoods defending this great nation of America. Let’s also remember, that always, it’s God that gives the victory.

Here is the full Pearl Harbor Speech by F.D.R. given to congress.
