From the Mouths of Babes Praise is Perfected

The first time I saw Jackie Evancho sing, my reaction was probably the same as everyone else’s. First, that she was a little angel sent from heaven, and then second, that it could not be real. But she is for real, and once again we can see the hand of God alive in the world. And then we hear the message that young Jackie is delivering with her beautiful voice, and we have to praise God again. Yes, from the mouth of Jackie Evancho praise is perfected, which brings us to today’s Bible or Not quote.

“Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants you have perfected praise.” –¬†Matthew 21:16

Jackie Evancho “To Believe” Lyrics

Before I lay me down to rest
I ask the Lord one small request
I know I have all I could need
But this prayer is not for me

Too many people on this day
Don’t have a peaceful place to stay
Let all fighting cease that your children may see peace
Wipe their tears of sorrow away

To believe in a day
When hunger and war will pass away
To have the hope amidst despair
That every sparrow’s counted
That you hear each cry and listen to each prayer

Let me try always to believe
That we can hear the hearts that grieve
Please help us not ignore
The anguished cries of the poor
Or their pain will never leave

To believe in a day
When hunger and war will pass away
To have the hope amidst despair
That every sparrow’s counted
That you hear their cries and listen to each prayer

Father, as you see, I’m just a child
And there’s so much to understand
But if Your Grace should surround me
Then I’ll do the best I can
I promise, I’ll do the very best I can

To believe in a day
When hunger and war will pass away
To have the hope amidst despair
That every sparrow’s counted
That you hear each cry and listen to each Prayer

Help us do Your will oh Father
In the name of all that’s true
And we’ll see in one another
The loving image of You

From the Mouths of Babes Praise is Perfected — 4 Comments

  1. As she says in the interview prior to her singing, her Uncle Matt wrote that. Think it says a lot about her family.

Me .. looking forward to the next time she performs in Atlanta as I hope to attend.

  2. Yeah they have a family thing going, but that’s cool. The message is a good message. Tnx.

  3. Have you heard her rendition of The Lord’s Prayer. I challenge anyone who reads this to listen to it without immediately bursting into tears.

Especially since you can tell–and it is true–that she means every word.
