God is No Where, God is Now Here

I heard a story on the radio about a conversion that used these phrases as bookends to the story. The story started out with a man proclaiming:

GOD IS NO WHERE

And then it ends with the same man proclaiming:

GOD IS NOW HERE

You’d think I would have heard this one at some point in my life, but wow, it was brand new! For those who have heard it before, thanks for bearing with me in my personal newness of it. What an excellent juxtaposition to illustrate the importance of perspective.

The Bible teaches us that our perspective should be Godly, or in other words, from the point of view of God. Fortunately we have the Scriptures at our finger tips to guide us into that perspective. Jesus teaches us that while we are in the world, we should not be of the world. Yes, we are living in this world, but we need not have a worldly perspective on life. We can and should have a Godly perspective to navigate and guide us through life.

The Apostle Paul teaches that we are not to be conformed to this world (gaining a worldly perspective), but rather, be transformed by the Spirit of God (gaining a Godly perspective):

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. – Romans 12:2 NKJV

He gives us further insight on how we are to allow our minds to grasp the heavenly and keep our perspective in line with God’s:

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. – Philippians 4:8 NKJV

So how do you see this now?

That’s what I thought…:-)

  1. very cool. like the ol’ “I THOUGHT you were a Christian.” vs ” I thought you were a CHIRISTIAN.” not sure if I ever save that before either, although it sounds like it may have made one of the old calendars. another favorite I saw recently was the letters: jesUSAves done in red, white and Blue in a patriotic font on the front of a sweatshirt design. sometimes these simple things are just so classic.
