Thank you to our readers who have submitted quotes! We have added several of them to the game :-). We have also used a few in our Bible or Not blog posts. As our regular readers and players know, Bible or Not is a game that tests your Bible knowledge by presenting the player with a popular quote, a quote from a well-known or historical person, or from the Bible. It’s up to you to decide if the quote is from the Bible, or Not. The more you answer correctly, the higher your score.
Here are some quotes that have been submitted and have made it into the game:
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” – Bible, Psalm 23:1 KJV
This Psalm is a classic, and very deep. We wrote a little about the Meaning of Psalm 23:1, I Shall Not Want too!
“God will not give you more than you can handle.” Not exactly in the Bible, but there are references that kind of fit. We wrote an article about this titled God Will Never Put More On You Than You Can Bear.
“A bribe is like a lucky charm whoever gives one prospers.” – Proverbs 17.8 NLT
It reads this way in the NIV Bible: “A bribe is seen as a charm by the one who gives it; they think success will come at every turn.” We also wrote an article titled “A Bribe is Seen as a Charm“.
This is a great encouraging verse from the Book of First John: “Ye are of God, little children and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4 KJV. It’s also a Bible Double! This verse is such a basic Christian belief that it’s only worth 10 points in the game – yes, everybody ought to know.
The following quotes are not from the Bible or from famous people. Even though they have not made it into Bible or Not, they are still meaningful to those who have written and shared them, and still worthy of note.
“God bless you and all who are around you.” – TRS
“Yes may be some hurts.. and pains… and of course plenty of tears which Helped it wash.” – Mind Of Jess
Thanks again to our readers for your comments and quotes, keep them coming. GBU from BON.
