The Ethical Man Versus The Moral Man

What’s the difference between an ethical person and a moral person?

“The ethical man knows what is right; the moral man does what is right.” – Anonymous

On the TV Show NCIS the character of Dr. Mallard gives a good example of this idea:

“The ethical man knows he shouldn’t cheat on his wife, whereas the moral man actually wouldn’t.”

Next question: are you ethical or moral?

In the Book of James in the Bible we read:

”Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” – James 4:17 NKJV

If we know what is right, yet do not do what is right, we are living in sin. During this Easter weekend let’s reflect on our lives in the light of the fact that Jesus died and rose again to pay for our sins and give us the gift of eternal life. Let’s make sure our lives reflect our thanks and love towards God and His great gift to mankind. Let us be true believers, living lives of true morality.

  3. A religious man cannot be an ethical man. His religiosity forces him (eventually) to be unethical.
