It’s been five days since Sandy hit the east coast and we are still a long way from getting back to normal. Thank God for our first responders and all those pouring into the tri-state area providing aid to those in need. There are many who have lost loved ones and we still have multitudes without homes, without power, without heat, without food, without hot water, without gas and more.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9 NIV
The recovery from Sandy will take quite some time and so let us not grow tired of helping those in need. There is something each of us can do, donating our time, energy and money. I have heard many big stories of great heroics saving people’s lives, and smaller stories of how people have opened their homes to make this time more bearable for those in need. Let’s keep it up, for as long as is needed. For God will bless those who are in need to receive, giving them those things they stand in need of, but He will bless those who are able to give even more.
Here is the KJV version of today’s Bible quote: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not”.
