The Attitude of Thanksgiving

H A P P Y   T H A N K S G I V I N G ! !

It’s Thanksgiving Day once again, and I’m thankful for the day. Putting aside the festivities, this day helps us to count our blessings and consider the goodness of God. Across the country there are many gathering together and sitting around tables giving thanks for all they have. And there are many who, as they recognize God’s blessings, consider the poor and needy and donate their time, money and skills to help those in need. What a wonderful time of the year!

Could you imagine if we all lived with this attitude of thanksgiving everyday? Each and every day, counting our blessings, helping the less fortunate, thanking God. This the the very same message we find in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through Christ is given the gift of salvation, to which we are very thankful, thus motivating us to glorify God by giving thanks and helping others.

The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. – 1 Corinthians 15:56-58 NKJV

So today and everyday, let’s live with an attitude of thanksgiving, or as the popular rhyme says, have an attitude of gratitude. And do not forget those in need, those whom we can so easily help. Have a blessed and God-filled Thanksgiving Day!
